Fiberglass filler and a pocket-size slice of metallic to back up the intermission will continue it from cracking again. Simply get it clamped in identify and apply a little bit. Trunk filler or fiberglass filler on the border. I recommend a good body filler due to ease of sanding.

To repair the crack yous commencement need to take a cut off wheel and make a cut following the crack. The will help each side of the fissure to line up even and does away with the fraid glass in the cleft. And so fill up the crack with resin and just a little mat on the backside for extra strength. Every bit for the corner, Just rebuild it to match the other side with resin. make sure to sand it back plenty to get all the flakey stuff off.
Practise the chips the aforementioned way. Sand them a little to remove the paint and fill in with resin.

Hope this helps, Proficient luck!

^^ adept communication..
A couple of other glass tricks is if you need a scrap of back bone to your resin for the chips at the end, you tin can mince upwardly glass mat and add it to the resin equally a slurry type mix..And also you lot tin can build a ''dam'' out of blueish record, office stuck down on spoiler and then folded upward like a L..This can help for a high build, and so sand off excess..After the resin hardens, tape will pull correct off.

Is the resin hardy enough without any cobweb in information technology to hold on? A time before when I sanded something fiberglass it got all furry when I got downwardly into the fiber. It wasn't smooth. Sould I worry about that?

Furry is fine. The resin will bond to the fur. Y'all'll accept to terminate it smooth with some rage, or other practiced plastic filler. The resin only rebuilds what is missing. The resin is plenty strong for this. Just exist conscientious with your hardner, Y'all don't desire it hardning to fast earlier you can get it worked in. Also requite it enough of time to cure earlier messing with it. At least 24 hrs earlier sanding and shaping.

If y'all saturate the stranded matte skilful plenty it should be pretty solid all the fashion through...the only fourth dimension information technology's actually "furry" is when the resin hasn't soaked through to form a bail.

Don't apply the resin by itself, it offers no force on something like that spoiler finish.

I really rebuilt a $l fiberglass 94 transam spoiler to put on my 85 TA one time. Information technology was cracked on the end and I used the method described in this thread likewise as extending the eye posts to lucifer my deck lid.

The primer area is where the crack was

I agree with all the methods suggested for fixing the crack. I had a similar problem with the bottom corner on my spoiler and merely rounded the corners a fleck on both ends. If information technology isnt a super correct resto this would make for an piece of cake and almost un noticeable ready.
